The name is from both of sun lake and moon lake, and it is famous for its different colors between these two lakes. It is the second biggest lake in Taiwan, and the biggest semi-natural lake with Hydroelectric power. Sun Moon Lake is located 748 m (2,454 ft) above sea level. It is 27 m (89 ft) deep and has a surface area of approximately 7.93 km2 (3.06 sq mi) Ecological landscape is rich and it is one of the fresh water lake that has the most exotic species.Sun Moon lake is one of magnificent scenic spot in the Taiwan. 溪頭自然教育園區包車自由行前身為溪頭森林遊樂區，位於南投縣鹿谷鄉西南境，背倚鳳凰山之山脈。其名源自當地的地名「溪頭」，但在口語中「溪頭」大多是指自然教育園區，為當地最具代表性的地標。現由臺灣大學實驗林管理處所轄。園區內有大學池、紅樓、銀杏林、生態展示中心等景點，千年神木則於2016年9月11日已倒塌，並有諸條森林步道與登山步道穿梭於林叢之中，其中有座步道擁「空中走廊」美稱，可謂四通八達，鳳凰山天文臺與溪頭氣象觀測站等政府機構也位於此。Xitou nature education areaIt was called Chitou Forest Recreation Area, in the south-west of Lugu Township, Nantou County. 鯉魚潭 位於台灣南投縣埔里鎮的一處湖面面積達二十甲的天然湖泊，分為南、北兩潭，中間以柳堤分隔，潭水深度與兩潭周遭景觀迥然不同，南潭原始深邃、北潭開朗清麗。環湖周長有一千三百公尺。此湖有「七穴」的風水傳說，各大穴都有不同的意涵與禁忌，在環湖時都可以見到，分別為：鯉魚穴、蝦穴、蝙蝠穴、鷹穴、龍穴、龜穴、蜈蚣穴。Liyu lakeIt is at Puli township, Nantou county. This natural lake is about 19.39 ha. It separates in to north and south lake. The depth and the views are totally different. The south lake is deeper and dark, the north lake is clearer. The length is about 1300 meters. The legend says there are seven caves here. Every cave has the different meaning superstition and taboos.
